OUR LAPIDARY WORKSHOP

Located at  643 Governors Road Unit 1, Paris ON

We have one of the larger club Lapidary workshops available to our members as well as first time non-members interested in joining our club. It is equipped with all the equipment required to slab rocks and minerals, to cut out your desired shapes and to polish your creations into a fantastic cabochon.

We also have an extensive library available to members, everything from how to wire wrap, lost wax casting, and  enameling to locations to find material as well as interesting books on the history of lapidary.  All available for members to use at the workshop or to sign out for use at home.

Our knowledgeable supervisors can get you started and guide you throughout the process so you can turn your found or purchased rocks and minerals into beautiful cabochons. There are also several specialty workshops held throughout the year in things like silver work, bronze work, and jewellery making.

If you have ever been interested in turning your mineral finds into something you will be proud to have and own, please come out to our workshop, first visit is always free and includes some material to get started on.

Fee for workshop is $10.00 per session.

Please respect other people who wish to use the machines and do not tie them up if someone is waiting. We have a sign in and sign out sheet at the door please remember to do use this and pay the instructor when first arriving. We are investigating a debit option and hope to have it up and running very soon. Existing punch cards will of course continue to be honored but no new cards will be issued going forward.

Also, we do welcome the younger members as long as they are strictly supervised by a guardian. Please see our junior member acknowledgement and if you wish your child to participate in using the workshop please sign and hand in to the instructor when you first arrive. Guardians may not be required to supervise from ages 16 to 19 depending on the instructors' and the guardian’s satisfaction that they understand the safety issues of running the machines. Ages 8 to 16 will always require a guardian’s supervision while operating or being around the machines.
